戸田建設
準大手ゼネコン（総合建設会社）の戸田建設は
７月末にフィリピンに現地法人を設立すると発表した。
日系製造業を中心に現地進出が広がるなか
現法の設立で受注の拡大につなげるという。
設立するのは「戸田フィリピン」。
資本金は１０００万ペソ（１８７０万円）で
出資比率は外資企業の出資限度である４０％弱を戸田建設が
残りを現地企業が出資する。
営業は１０月から開始する予定。
戸田建設がアジアに拠点を設けるのは
中国とタイ、ベトナムに続いて４カ所目になる。
戸田建設では海外で年間２００億円程度の受注獲得を目指しているという。
戸田建設株式会社は
日本のゼネコンでスーパーゼネコン5社（大成・鹿島・清水・竹中・大林）に続く
準大手の1社で建築を主体事業とする三菱UFJ系の企業。
歴史的建造物など戦前から官公庁関連や大学関連に数多くの実績を持ち
特に医療・福祉関連施設に強く
「病院の戸田」というブランドを持つ建築の名門として知られる。

銃刀法違反（営利目的輸入予備）容疑で指名手配していた
フィリピン在住の職業不詳、村上雄一容疑者（４２）を逮捕した。
逮捕容疑は、平成１２年９月、京都市の会社役員ら４人と共謀
フィリピンで手に入れた拳銃８６丁と実弾１１０７発を
ヨットで石垣島に陸揚げしようとした疑い。
今年６月３０日に、フィリピン当局が身柄を拘束。
国外退去処分を受け、今月１４日、帰国する機内で逮捕された。

フィリピンのアキノ大統領は
南シナ海の南沙（英語名スプラトリー）諸島をめぐる
中国との領有権争いについて、８月末に予定している訪中の際
中国側にあらためてフィリピンの主張を明確に伝える意向を示した。
(アキノ氏は８月３１日～９月２日、大統領就任後初めて中国を訪問する予定。)
フィリピン政府は、領有権争いの解決を図るとして
国際海洋法裁判所に仲裁を求めるか提訴することを検討しており
