戦前、現地に移住した日本人男性と現地の女性の間に生まれましたが
父親は戦時中に旧日本軍に招集され
終戦とともに日本に強制送還されたあと連絡が取れなくなっていました。
その後、フィリピンの残留日本人の調査を行っている
日本のＮＰＯ法人が調べた結果
沖縄県に住む奥間萬蔵さん（９５）が父親と判明し
ＮＰＯ法人の支援で再会することになりました。
オクマさんは、６日午後、那覇市に到着し
萬蔵さんと６６年ぶりの再会を果たす予定です。
フィリピンでは、オクマさんのように戦争で
日本人の父親と離れ離れになった人が今も２００人以上いるとされ
このうち８３人が日本国籍があることを確認するよう
東京家庭裁判所に申し立てています。
