ミンダナオ島の気候と火山地質がコーヒー豆に適しているとして
今後、ミンダナオ島におけるコーヒー農場の拡張を
行う計画があると発表した。
ネスレ社は、国内需要のおよそ50％が現地で賄われているという。

フィリピンの首都マニラ近郊で
3年以内に、フィリピンの歴史上初めて
小人だけが住む町が作られることになった。
そこには、小人用の学校や商店、教会、住宅などが建設される予定。
現在200名以上が会員となっている
小人連盟では、フィリピンの観光スポットとなることを期待しているという。

フィリピン国家警察の犯罪捜査隊（CIDG）が
声明で述べたところによる
フィリピンのマニラで現地時間11月23日に逮捕された4人は
サウジアラビアを拠点とするテロリスト集団から資金を得ていたという。
このテロリスト集団は、インドのムンバイで2008年に発生した
同時多発テロで資金源になっていたことがFBIによって確認されている。
このインド最大の都市で起きた一連のテロでは
164人が死亡し、負傷者は少なくとも308人にのぼった。
CIDGによると
容疑者たちは、AT&Tを含む複数の通信事業者の電話中継回線にあたる
PBX（構内電話交換機）をハッキングしたという。
これらの攻撃で盗まれた金銭は
テロリストたちが保有する銀行口座に流れ
フィリピン人ハッカーらは
そのテロリストから手数料を受け取ったと、CIDGは述べている。
