弾劾裁判所
フィリピン上院は
１４日、選挙妨害罪で起訴された
アロヨ前大統領に有利な決定を下すなどして
国民の信頼を失ったとして
コロナ最高裁長官の罷免の是非を決める弾劾裁判所を設置した。
コロナ長官は、アロヨ前大統領の首席補佐官などを務めた「懐刀」で
アロヨ氏の大統領退任直前に、長官に任命された。
弾劾発議書によると
コロナ長官は、アキノ大統領が設置した
アロヨ前政権の汚職追及を目的とした委員会を違憲とするなど
アロヨ前大統領に有利な決定を下したことなどを理由に挙げている。
罷免には上院議員２３人の３分の２（１６人）以上の賛成が必要です。

逮捕後に自殺
フィリピン首都圏警察カロオカン署の留置所で
14日、飲食店従業員のフィリピン人男性(31)が
死亡しているのが見つかった。
男性は交際相手の女性に対する傷害容疑で２日前に逮捕されていた。
タオルを使って首をつったらしい。
この男性には殺人や強盗の容疑もあったという。
