フィリピンでは邦人観光客に対してアノ手コノ手の犯罪行為が行われる。
なかでも『睡眠薬強盗』に巻き込まれる観光客は多く
関係機関は注意を呼び掛けている。
この手口は一人旅の邦人男性に言葉巧みに近づき
親しくなって近郊へ一泊旅行に誘われ
その滞在先で睡眠薬入りの飲み物を飲まされ寝込んでいる内に
金と所持品が奪われる。
身体への危害は与えられていないのが救いといえば救いになるが
先年韓国人の被害者で死亡した例もあった。
今回も、日本人女性留学生がバギオ市で
睡眠薬を飲まされ暴行受けるという事件があり
フィリピン人男性が逮捕され告訴されるたという。

１ターミナル
マニラ空港第１ターミナルの改修工事が16日に開始される。
マニラ空港公団（ＭＩＡＡ）によると
フィリピン政府が、11億ペソの予算を承認したことで
改修工事が始まることになり
工期は１年～１年半を予定している。
築30年以上と老朽化が進む第１ターミナルが
２０１３年にも新しくなり、観光客増による過密化の解消が期待されそうだ。

中央制御室には1980年代の設備がそのまま残っている。
バターン原発へは、首都マニラから車で約3時間。
見学料は150フィリピンペソ（約260円）で
近くのプライベートビーチも使用可能だ。
見学ツアーは、バターン原発の安全性の説明から始まる。
例えば、2011年3月11日に福島第一原発を襲った
地震と同程度の揺れにも耐えられる設計だという。
次に、案内を受けながら原発内の主要施設を回る。
「原子炉、蒸気発生器、制御室、タービン発電機などを見られる。
放射性物質はすべて運び出されているため
放射線被曝の危険はない」と
フィリピン国家電力公社（NPC）のマウロ・マルセロ氏は説明する。
