フィリピン交通通信省がこのほど
フィリピン全土の空港、海港、鉄道駅そして
陸運局の待合室にあるトイレを改善すると発表した。
交通通信省が管理管轄する公共トイレは合計1,224箇所あり
近日中に、786箇所のトイレを改善する業者の入札を行うという。

小学校を開設
フィリピンが、中国などと領有権を争う
南シナ海の南沙（英語名スプラトリー）諸島で
フィリピンが実効支配するパグアサ島に
６月、小学校を開設することがわかった。
パグアサ島では小規模な埠頭建設も予定されており
「実効支配を強化する動き」として中国の反発が予想される。
町長によると
「カラヤン小学校」と名付けられ教員２人を確保。
入校予定者は３５人だという。

偽装結婚仲介
フィリピン人ホステスの偽装結婚を仲介したとして
元埼玉県警警部補で行政書士の成田隆和被告（５９）の判決が
４月２３日、埼玉地裁であり
懲役１年６ヶ月（求刑・懲役２年６月）の実刑判決を言い渡された。
成田被告は２００９年１月
フィリピン人の女と日本人の男と共謀し
虚偽の婚姻届をさいたま市西区役所に提出した容疑。
弁護側は公判で
「婚姻は偽装ではなく、仮に偽装だったとしてもその認識はなかった」として
無罪を主張していたが
裁判官は「被告の説明は納得できるものではない」として退けた。
