食料不足からネズミを食料にしていると現地メディアが伝えた。
カルンピット自治政府によると
避難所に避難している2万3,000人分の食料が不足しているという。

慰霊祭
フィリピン南部ミンダナオ島ダバオにあるミンタル墓地で
8月11日、太平洋戦争前に
日本から渡った入植者や残留日系人を悼む慰霊祭があり
ゆかりのある日本人や日系人らを中心に約２００人が参列した。
ダバオには１９００年代初頭から麻栽培のため日本人が移住。
戦前には、最大約２万人の日本人社会が築かれたが
戦争で家族と生き別れ、多くが残留日系人となった。
慰霊祭は、日本政府と日系人会の共催で
沖縄県出身者も毎年、独自に慰霊式を行っている。

フィリピンのマニラ空港でこのほど
着陸直前のセブパシフィック機がエンジントラブルを起こした。
着陸態勢に入る11分前に
二つのエンジンのうち、片方に異状が発生したと機長から連絡があった。
緊急態勢が敷かれたが
旅客機は無事着陸し、乗客乗員も無事だった。
