１７日、避妊具使用などを推進する人口抑制法案を賛成多数で可決した。
カトリック教徒が８割以上を占めるフィリピンでは
教会が政治的に大きな発言力を持ち
１０年以上にわたって法案は議会通過を阻まれてきたが
アキノ大統領は人口増加を抑制するため
２０１０年の就任直後から法案可決に意欲を示していた。
フィリピンの人口は２０００年の約７７００万人から
現在の約９５００万人とハイペースで増え続けており
出産が貧困層の負担となっている。

フィリピン メトロマニラ郊外のショッピングモールに特設したコースで
フィリピンでは初めてとなる
「第9回ヤマハ アセアン カップ レース」が開催された。
今回、フィリピンとインド、インドネシア、タイ、マレーシアの5カ国から選抜された
ライダーと特別参戦枠の日本人ライダー総勢45名が参加。
結果、インドネシア、タイの本大会初出場となる15歳の若手ライダーが優勝、
チーム総合優勝は、今回新設のATクラスを制したタイチームが獲得した。
