「ジャーニー」の新ボーカリストに大抜てきされた
アーネル・ピエダ（フィリピン人）を迎えたジャーニー。
アーネルは、2年間路上で生活していた経験も持つ当時40歳の
無名のフィリピン人シンガーだった。

選挙終了まで国民に銃の携行を認めない措置を始めた。
過去の選挙戦で対抗する人間を射殺するなど銃犯罪が相次いだためで
その抑止が狙いだという。
ただ候補者本人や警護員などは対象外で「抜け道」は多く
地元メディアなどは、その効果を疑問視している。

主犯格でフィリピンに逃走しているとみられる33歳の男は
1月22日が旅券返納命令の期限だが
逃走先とみられるフィリピンでは、すでに滞在のビザが切れていて
不法滞在となっている可能性が高いことがわかったという。

寝泊まりしていたイギリス人男性が
9日、イギリス大使館の代表に迎えられ、空港を後にした。
男性の航空券が失効していたことが原因だという。
