在台湾フィリピン人労働者への風当たりが強まり
政府は市民に冷静さを呼びかけているが
一方でフィリピンに留学している台湾の学生も
身を守るため日本人を装うなどの自衛策を取り始めているという。
台湾では現在までのところ
偶発的なトラブルを除き、実際に銃撃事件に起因した
フィリピン人に暴力を加えた事例は確認されていない。
ただ、ネット上には反フィリピン感情をあおる書き込みが相次ぎ
一部では、フィリピン製品の撤去や
「フィリピン人お断り」の張り紙を出す店などが出始めており
自治体が姉妹都市関係を破棄するなど対フィリピン感情は急速に悪化している。
