八ツ場ダムの問題をめぐり、東吾妻町と町議会が、前原誠司国土交通相へ公開質問状の攻勢をかけている。ダムの地元、長野原町とは別行動で、事業「中止」に備えたいという思惑がある。７月に出した質問状への回答に不満があるとして、このほど、あらためて質問状を手渡した。
最初の質問状は７月５日付で、中沢恒喜町長と一場明夫議長の連名。（１）「中止発言」以来、東吾妻町や住民と協議していないのは町を軽視しているのでは ないか（２）今まで約束した道路やトンネル整備など、生活再建事業とダム関連事業はすべて実施されるのか――など１２項目について回答を求めた。
回答が届いたが、「内容に不明な点がある」として、今月２０日、町長、議長らが再度、国交省を訪れ、二の矢を放った。
質問状は１１項目。回答にあった「関係都県など」には「町と住民が含まれているという解釈でよいか」と念押し。（１）については「回答がなかった」とし て再質問。（２）の「必要な事業は予算の範囲内でできるだけ遅滞なく進めたい」との回答にも、事業別に実施時期を示すようたたみかけている。

国家財政が危機的だと言う割にはこういう利権絡みの陳情党が後を絶たない気がする。
私は民主党は端から支持していないが、このダムの問題は（最初は共産党が問題提起した）ここまで有名にならなかった気がします。
