気象庁
は１日、今夏（６～８月）の全国の平均気温
が平年より１．６４度高く、１８９８（明治３１）年の統計
開始以来最高
だったと発表した。特に８月は平年を２．２５度も上回った。暑さ
は９月も続く見通しで、１日も気象庁が観測する９２１地点
中２４２地点で９月の観測史上最高気温
を記録。１５７地点で３５度以上の猛暑日
、７８９地点で３０度以上の真夏日

」として３日に専門家などによる分析
検討会を開く。
全国の平均気温は、都市化
の影響が少ない国内１７地点の平年との差を平均
して算出。過去の夏の平均気温の１位は、９４年の平年比プラス
１．３６度だった。地域別でも、北日本と東日本
が過去最高で、西日本
も４位。８月の平均気温は、沖縄・奄美を除く全地域で平年を２度以上上回り、過去最高だった。

気象庁は高温の原因として▽偏西風
の北への蛇行により、勢力の強い太平洋高気圧
に覆われた▽オホーツク海高気圧
などの影響がほとんどなかった－－を挙げる。特に太平洋高気圧については、気象庁が大気に関する詳細なデータ
を解析し始めた７９年以降で、最も勢力が強かったという。
気象庁によると、今後も太平洋高気圧の勢力が強い状態は続く。少なくとも向こう１週間は各地で猛暑日が観測される可能性が高く、中旬
