I just want to share these photos of my blooming cacti that I took in April to June.
This is the two-year-old Echinopsis Subdenudata that my dad bought for me. It was about the size of a tennis ball when I got it. It didn't grow for half a year and kinda shriveled under our insanely hot tropical climate. In June 2019, it started to have a growth spurt and produced offsets. It finally bloomed last April.
It smelled fragant- a light lemony and sweet vanilla scent
I played around with my phone's camera settings and took this photo in a dark room with black background and table lamp. I love how this picture turned out
Mammillaria compressa centralifera. This huge cactus was sold to me in a low price coz the seller was trying to get rid of plants from her inventory to make room for more succulent propagations.
It arrived in the mail bare-rooted and it was a struggle to pot. It's my first time to pot a mother plant (it's almost as big as a grapefruit) and did my best to protect the spines from breaking. I still ended up getting stabbed on my hands and arms even though i wore gloves
.
Thelocactus setispinus. I keep forgetting to take a photo whenever it blooms.
Too bad I missed the moment when it was in full bloom. The flower was also fragrant.
Lobivia arachnacantha. It's a gorgeous pink.
The petals look a little glittery up-close ![]()
