先日からのリフレインネタはコイツである。(笑)
出張先のバス待ち時間にふと頭に浮かんでから、気を抜くと頭の中で繰り返してしまうのだ。
恋心に身悶えした若い頃は、メランコリックな歌詞とやたら悲しげなメロディがあまり好きになれなかったのだが、
そういう感情が干からびてきた最近は、もう少し別の味わい方をするようになった。
この曲は、ビートルズ解散後のジョンのソロアルバム2枚目、Imagine に収録されている。
当時のジョンとヨーコは少々過激な平和活動家であり、時には世間からのバッシングにも晒され、ヨーコはジョンを奪ってビートルズを解散に追い込んだ悪女扱いだったようだ。
そんな中で、孤立した若い２人が心を寄せ合って耐え忍んでいる、そんな寂しい心情が込められていたのかも知れない。

この曲想は、例えて言うと、冬の終わり頃の空である。
冬の空は透明で冷たい。
その遥か彼方に透けて見える理念や理想は寂しく、物悲しい。
しかし、冬の終わりが近づくと、冷たい中にもほんの少しの暖かさの断片が、そっと忍び込みはじめるのだ。
