日本語に特別の文化があるため英語で直訳するのは難しいケースが多いです。
例えば 親孝行 の英語は??
赤い→redみたいな一義的対応単語がないですね。
今日はいくつわかりやすい表現を紹介します。
① to be a dutiful child, to be dutiful to parents 孝行する
👆やるべきこと(責任など)を全部やってる、義務を果たす、本分を守る
なので⇩
dutiful wife 賢妻
dutiful son 孝行息子
dutiful daughter 孝行娘
I want to be dutiful to my parents .親孝行がしたい。
② to do something nice for parents 親孝行がする
dutifulより口語的な言い方です。
Let's do something nice for mom.
母に親孝行しよう。
③ to take (good) care of parents 親を世話する 面倒を見る
④ 親に恩返しする
- to return the favor to parents
- to repay parents
- to pay parents back(アメリカ英語のみ)
Parents expect nothing in return from their child. But we should return the favor to them as much as we can.
親は子供からの恩返しを何も期待していないですが私達はなるべく多く恩返しするべきです。
親の犠牲を感謝しましょう。
