前回に続いて、今回も Australia の
都市近郊鉄道の話です。
先月、Australia の Melbourne で、Tennis 大会
(Australia Open) を開催していましたが、
その期間の一部に重なる日程で、市街地の環状線
(City Loop) の列車を運休して、駅の防火設備の
工事をしていたようです。
１月３日に、Melbourne Central 駅の
商業施設から "We're Open" という Subject 名で、
> THE CITY LOOP MAY BE CLOSED, BUT WE SURE AREN'T.
という内容の mail を受信したので、Melbourne の
交通局 (ptv) の homepage で確認すると、
１月２日から１月１５日まで、市街地の環状線
(City Loop) の列車を運休すると書いてありました。
大多数の人は、Tennis 大会の会場には、路面電車
(Tram) で移動するので、City Loop の列車が運休
しても、あまり関係無いのですが、Melbourne の
郊外から、鉄道を利用して試合の観戦に来る人には、
（鉄道路線によっては、Bus 代行の日もあったので）
影響があったのかもしれません。
