●a homestay in L.A.

I have a experience to homestay in L.A. only for one month.
Actually I wanted to go to Boston.
Because when I was an university student, my major was English American Literature.

I chose a book which have story setting in Boston as a theme of graduation thesis.
But I gave up that. because of high cost.

a homestay in L.A. was cheaper than Boston.

And hostfamilies in L.A. are volunteer.
So cheaper than everywhere.


The participations were about 20 people from east and west side from Japan.

Some participations were unlucky.
Because their host family made them stay as a babysitter.






At that time, I was twenty years old.
In Japan, the twenties are celebrated as becoming adult.
Most Japanese women wear kimono japanese traditional clothes at a celebration party.
It costs expensive.

I thought if I wear kimono and take pictures, I wouldn't watch them later.
So I chose to homestay instead of wearing kimono.

Now, I ask many friends to have chance to watch the photo.
Nobody watch them.
I knew it.
I had a good choice.

●I don't like to give a present.

I don't like to give a present.
Because that also gives me a pressure to use it.

Some people like to give a present.
my friend is one of them.
one day she gave me a watch.
I don't usually wear it.
She knows that.
But one day I told her.
I need a watch to keep time at my gig.

at my gig, the bar usually decides the number of song I sing.
But one jazz bar, they said me please performe for one hour.
I had to count the time.

At that time, I talked her about that.
Of course I didn't think she give me it.
I like the watch very much.
But at usual gig, I don't need it.
Just only one jazz bar.
Recently I haven't given a chance to sing there.

She sometimes come to my gig.
I'm so glad, but I feel so much pressure.

Same as accessories,
I have a preference about a lot of things.


I'm also not good at chosing presents.
Because I have a preference about a lot of things.
So I think my friend also has.
I can't chose what she satisfies.

I usually teat cake and coffee in return.
my present is something disappear.
I think it's not a pressure for my friend.

●Tutaya in daikanyama

I went to Tutaya in daikanyama.
There are a lot of events there.
One of them is about jazz.
Two special staffs who know quite a lot about jazz decide the theme .
And chose songs and play with a Laser Turntable.

It can play records with laser.

The sounds is so good.
It's like the musicians play in front of us.

I want to buy it.
But it needs also a good soundproof room.

When I listened to it at the event, I think it's a good sounds.
But I don't have a stereo which can play records.
So I lent the CD.
And listen to it with my stereo,

I'm always disappointed the worth sounds.

That's why, recently I don't lent CDs.
I go there to only listen to good sounds!

●presentation

We have to give a presentation for a outcome of company's study and training.

all of employee except executive members joined the study and training.
We noticed we need more communication to get a sales power.
But executive members didn't ask us.
They decided to go to company's trip.

no communication.

We didn't think good relation ship is built by only one day trip.
So our team presentation will tell executive members,
company's trip don't make a good relation ship.
without a word company's trip.

We'll suggest the lunch meeting once a month.
in small groups.

in small groups communication frequentlly makes good relation ship.

●I’m not good at direction

Recently I missed the last train after my gig.
I told to my friend too long without checking the time.
So I went to closest station from my house.
I rode a midnight bus.

This was my first time to ride it.
So I got off the bus stop which was supposed to be near my house.
I couldn���t know where I was.
I���m not good at direction.

Nobody walked around there.
If somebody were, it���s better not to ask them.
So I decided to ask the staff of convenience store.
He looked like Japanese, but he seemed to be stranger there.
I wondered he is foreigner.
But I asked him to see the map around here in Japanese.
So he said ���of course we have���. He pointed the cheese.
Map in Japanese ���tizu��� .

He misunderstood a word.

Finally I had to take a taxi.

●Starbucks

I went to Starbucks to use one drink free ticket.
My boss gave me it.
The limit is the end of this month.
I usually don���t go there.
My image is Starbucks drinks are all sweet for me.

But recently I knew something yogurt flavor.
Have you tried it?
I thought I���ll try it.
But the special campaign flavor was finished.

I usually order Starbucks late or maccha tea late made from soymilk.

Anyway Starbucks was crowded because of holiday.
After going 3 stores, finally I could have a seat.

I rewrote a music score for changing key.
After that, I read a book about Spanish history.

Why do you think the jazz is not popular among young people?

In my opinion, young people want to create new music and new things.
They don���t want to stuck with the traditional thing.
They always refuse the old thing.
When I was student, I also wasn���t interested in old things.
I couldn���t understand the traditional things.
For example, history or temple.
But now, I try to study them.
So as they grow older, they will notice that the mature music like jazz
is also great.

That���s why, the jazz is not popular among young people.

One of attractive point of singing jazz,
I think it���s not necessary to form own band.
If singers have my own music scores, we can sing with a live band.
Some very famous jazz song, no music score is ok.
There are a lot of jazz songs.
And jazz musician know them and can play them.


If I form my own band, we have to gather to practice regularly.
After we became members of society, that is difficult.
Even if when I was university student, that was difficult.
Because each of band member has a difference priority.

●study meeting

I joined a study meeting about books.
It hold once a month.
Every time the organizer choose a book.
The member read it until the meeting day.
And talk about it.

I have joined four times.
But this time is after six months for me.
Sometimes I couldn���t read it.
Sometimes I had another plans.
Sometimes I���m not interested in the book.

This time, the book was about world problems Akira Ikegami chose.
I want to know about them.
He is journalist.
He also explains many world problems easily to understand.

●Ultraviolet rays

Ultraviolet rays is getting strongly.

I heard how to wear sunscreen more effectively.

Most people spread the sunscreen.
But in this way, surface irregularity happens.

Best way is to put it on five point of your face.
And push into your skin with tapping.
Especially around cheekbones and top of nose.
You should do more carefully.

I usually forget to wear it on my foot.

●fall down the stairs

The end of last month, I fell down on the stairs.
That time is after playing tennis.
So maybe I was tired and one of cause is that I wore new sandal.

Basically I fall down easilly.
I have no sense of blance.
I'm used to falling down from childhood.
So I usually don't get injured.

When I fall down the stairs, I usually fall down backward.
But last month , I did forward.
I was so surprised.
Maybe eight from the bottom stair.
A little bit high.

I hit the part of my right ankle and knee.
But only hit not twist.

I could walk after that.
I leave to stand because of no being hurt.

The hit part were getting black and blue.
But I could walk without pain.

Recently the part of black and blue got well and be natural color.

But after that, my leg is getting hurt.
I hit the outside of my ankle.
I get hurt the inside.
I don't know why.
I can still walk.
But the opposite part I hit is getting pain.
So I put on a cold compress at night time.
