「トントン」
毎日忙しくしていた日の合間の1日、
メールの返信とか、いろいろ溜まっていたことを、コタツに座ってやっていたら、突然ドアをノックする音がしました。
まず思ったのは、
「えっ？私、何か約束忘れたかな？」
そして、
「なんか、Amazonで注文したっけ？」
スケジュール帳見ても、次の直傳靈氣クラスの準備を
する日、としかないし。
Amazonの配達だったら、みなさん、この時点でドア開けてるけど、誰かドアの向こうで立ってる。。。誰だろう？
ドアを開けると、
見覚えのある方が。
「えーーーー、さくこさん！どうやってここまで来たんですか？」
さくこさんは、私が2006年に直傳靈氣セミナーを初めて
受講した時のクラスメート。
私は、バンクーバー近郊に住み、さくこさんは、シアトルに
住んでいたので、それいらお会いしたのは１回だけ。
でも、最近の私の五島への移住や、その後のフェイスブックの投稿をずっと読んでいてくださり、
「五島を見てみたい！真理さんにも会いたい！」
と思って、シアトルから日本へ里帰りのチャンスで、
なんと五島まで足を伸ばしてくださいました。
五島在住の方ですら、この富江町の山下地区まで
来たことないとか、来ようとしても必ず迷う場所なのに、
シアトルから、住所も知らないのに、私のところまで
辿り着けたというのが、びっくりびっくり。
観光バスに乗れなかったから、
「じゃ、真理さんとこに行ってみよう。」
って、まず公共のバスで、五島で栄えてる街の福江からバスで
富江まちへ。
でも、私の住む山下地区は、そこから車で７、8分。歩いらら結構かかる。
さくこさんが、ウロウロしていると、その辺のおばさんが、
「何してるの？どこにいくの？」
と聞いてくれ、説明したら、
「私も今出かけるところだから、連れてってあげる。」と
山下漁港まで乗せてくれたそう。
でも、さくこさんは、私の住所を知らない💦
また漁港の近くをウロウロしていると、
近所の方に声をかけられて、
「岡崎さんを探している。」と伝えても、
「いやー知らないなぁ。」
とか、
「あー、カナダから来た人がこの辺に住んでるって
なんかで聞いたような。」
とかで、辿り着けない。
結局、ウロウロして、入っていった電気屋さんに
私のことを聞いたら、
「たぶん、あっちの奥の方に住んでる人だろう。」
と地図で説明してくれたけど、結局、
「近いから、車で乗せてってあげる。」
ということで、我が家までたどり着いたそうです。
そこまでして、私に会いに来てくれて、
もう、嬉しいというか、びっくりというか。
会いたい、行きたい、何かしたい、という気持ちには、距離とかは関係ないんですね。’行動’ですね。
行動あるのみ。
行動すると、何かが起こる。
行動すると、現実化する。
そんなことを、感じさせてくれた、1日でした。

"Knock, Knock"
It was a day in between busy days, where I found a little time to sit at the kotatsu and catch up on things—replying to emails and dealing with various accumulated tasks.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.
My initial thoughts were,
"Huh? Did I forget some appointment?"
Then I thought,
"Did I order something from Amazon?"
I checked my schedule book, and there was nothing except preparation for the next Jikiden Reiki class.
If it was an Amazon delivery, most people would have opened the door at this point, but someone was standing on the other side of the door...
Who could it be?
Upon opening the door, I saw a familiar face.
"Whaaat! Sakuko-san! How did you manage to come all the way here?"
Sakuko-san was a classmate from when I first attended the Jikiden Reiki seminar in 2006. I live near Vancouver, and Sakuko-san used to live in Seattle, so we only met a few times.
However, despite that, she had been closely following my recent move to Goto and Facebook posts. She wanted to see Goto Islands and meet me. Thus, she took the opportunity to visit Japan from Seattle and extended her journey all the way to Goto.
Even for residents of Goto, coming to the Yamashita district in Tomie town is uncommon, and it's easy to get lost if attempted. Yet, despite not knowing my address and coming all the way from Seattle, she managed to find her way to my place, which was incredibly surprising.
She was unable to catch a Goto sightseeing bus, she decided, "Let's go to Mari-san's place."
So, she first took a public bus from Fukue, a thriving town on Goto, to Tomie town the next small town.
However, the Yamashita district where I live is a 7-8 minute drive from the Tomie bus stop, quite a walk by foot.
While Sakuko-san was wandering around, a local lady in the area asked,
"What are you doing? Where are you going?"
Upon explaining, the lady said,
"I'm heading out too, I'll take you there,"
and gave her a ride to Yamashita Fishing Port.
But Sakuko-san didn't know my address 💦
Continuing to wander near the port, she was approached by a neighbor. She said,
"I'm looking for Okazaki-san."
Even after conveying my name, they responded,
"I don't know..." or
"Oh, I heard something about a person from Canada living around here."
Eventually, after wandering around, she entered an electronics shop and inquired about me. They said,
"She probably live deeper in that direction,"
pointing on the map.
But ultimately, he said,
"It's close by, I'll drive you there,"
and managed to reach my house.
To come all that way just to meet me... It was not just delightful but also astonishing.
The desire to meet, to go, or to do something transcends distance. It's about 'action.'
Action is everything.
When you take action, something happens.
Taking action manifests things into reality.
That day made me feel these things profoundly.
