20 Years of Memories, a New Pair of Jeans — Custom Boomerang Denim
昔からObeliskを応援してくださっている西山様が、
今回のオーダーは、
Mr. Nishiyama, a longtime Obelisk fan, visited our shop!
His latest order is for our Boomerang Denim Pants — one of the original designs that helped spark Obelisk’s denim boom.
西山様が、なんと20年間も履き続けてくださった一本。
長い年月を共にしてきたデニムには、履き込んだ風合いと、
作り手として、これほど長く愛用していただけるのは、
He has worn his original pair for an incredible 20 years.
The denim has developed its own character over time, carrying the story of the person who has worn it.
As the maker, it means so much to know that our work has been loved for so long.
今回いただいたご希望は、
「このブーメランデニムを、新しいデニム生地で、
オリジナルのブーメランデニムパンツは、
今回はその特徴をストレートシルエットへと変更し、
His request was:
“I’d like a new pair of these Boomerang Denim Pants, made with fresh denim in my own size. And instead of the original bootcut silhouette, I’d like the legs redesigned into a straight silhouette all the way to the hems!”
The original Boomerang Denim Pants featured a bootcut silhouette that flared toward the hems.
For this order, we are adapting that detail into a straight silhouette while preserving the character of the beloved design and creating a pair that fits him today.
まずは採寸を行い、パターンを作成。
その後、トワルを製作して、実際にご試着いただきました。
ウエストやヒップ、脚まわりのゆとり、
We began by taking his measurements and creating the pattern.
Next, we made a toile — a fabric mock-up — for him to try on.
During the fitting, we checked the waist, hips, room through the legs, and the line from the upper legs down to the hems, carefully confirming the new straight silhouette in place of the original bootcut shape.

With his approval of the toile’s fit, we moved on to cutting the new denim!
The Boomerang Denim Pants he has loved for 20 years are taking shape again, this time transformed from the original bootcut silhouette into a straight one.

We’ll now carefully sew this new pair, made especially for Mr. Nishiyama, so he can continue enjoying a favorite Obelisk design for years to come.
