Our returning customer, Mr. Muraoka, visited the Obelisk atelier shop once again for another special order.
今回オーダーいただいたのは、B’z 稲葉浩志さんが「FYOP」のポスターで着用された、
This time, he ordered an Obelisk studded riders jacket—the same design worn by Koshi Inaba of B’z for the “FYOP” promotional poster.
まずは既製品を試着
Starting with a Fitting
まずは店頭にある既製品を実際にご試着いただき、
We started by having Mr. Muraoka try on our ready-made version to check the overall silhouette, fit, body length, sleeve length, and proportions.
採寸から専用パターンの制作へ
Measurements and Custom Pattern Making
既製品のフィッティングを参考にしながら、
Using the fitting as a reference, we carefully took Mr. Muraoka’s measurements.
オーダーメイドでは、
With a true custom-made jacket, we don’t simply make an existing size larger or smaller. We create a dedicated pattern based on the customer’s individual body shape and proportions.
採寸した数値をもとに、村岡様専用のパターンを制作しました。
Using these measurements, we created a custom pattern exclusively for Mr. Muraoka.
トワルでシルエットを確認
Checking the Silhouette with a Toile
完成したパターンから、まずはトワルを制作。
From the completed pattern, we created a toile for the fitting.
実際に着用していただき、肩まわり、胸まわり、ウエスト、着丈、
With Mr. Muraoka wearing the toile, we carefully checked the shoulders, chest, waist, body length, sleeves, and overall balance.
平面の数字だけでは分からない部分を、
This is an essential part of the custom-making process, allowing us to fine-tune details that measurements alone cannot reveal.
ここで細かな修正を加え、
After making the necessary adjustments, the final silhouette of the leather jacket is determined.
いよいよレザーを裁断
Cutting the Leather
トワルでフィッティングを確認したら、
Once the toile fitting is complete, it is finally time to cut the actual leather.
革は一枚一枚、厚みや表情、伸び方などが異なります。
Every piece of leather is unique, with its own thickness, texture, character, and stretch.
それぞれのパーツに適した部分を見極めながら、
We carefully select the most suitable area of the hide for each part of the jacket, always considering the balance and appearance of the finished piece.
一つひとつ、スタッズを取り付ける
Studding by Hand, One by One
今回のライダースを象徴するのが、存在感のあるスタッズワーク。
One of the defining features of this riders jacket is its striking stud work.
裁断したレザーに位置を決め、
After carefully marking the positions, each stud is attached to the leather one by one.
完成すると自然に見える配置も、実際の制作では位置や間隔、
Although the finished arrangement may look effortless, every stud requires careful attention to its position, spacing, and overall balance.
レザーとメタルが組み合わさり、
As leather and metal come together, the jacket gradually begins to reveal the distinctive character of Obelisk.
そして縫製へ
Moving on to Sewing
スタッズワークを終えた各パーツを、いよいよ縫製していきます。
Once the stud work is completed, the individual leather pieces move on to the sewing process.
平面だったレザーが組み上がり、

The flat leather pieces are gradually assembled, transforming into a three-dimensional riders jacket.
採寸、パターン制作、トワル、レザーの裁断、スタッズ付け、
Measurements, pattern making, toile fitting, leather cutting, studding, and sewing.
一つひとつの工程を積み重ねながら、
Through each of these carefully executed processes, we are creating a truly unique jacket exclusively for Mr. Muraoka.
