The fashion of that era is back in the spotlight, now known as “Y2K.”
The Boomerang Denim Pants held an important place in that scene as one of Obelisk’s signature denim designs.
長年のObeliskファンである西山様は、
今回は、その思い入れのあるデザインを、新しいデニム生地で、
Mr. Nishiyama, a longtime Obelisk fan, has worn and treasured his pair for around 20 years.
For this custom order, we brought his beloved design back to life in fresh denim, made to his measurements!
■ あのデザインを、今の自分に。
ブーメランデニムならではの個性を活かしながら、
採寸からパターン作成、トワルでのフィッティングを経て、
We preserved the distinctive character of the original Boomerang Denim Pants while updating the legs to a straight silhouette.
After taking measurements and creating the pattern, we checked the fit with a toile. Once Mr. Nishiyama was happy with the shape and fit, we cut the denim.
■ 縫製を重ね、ついに完成！
特徴的な切り替えラインを、
かつての作品を、今の西山様のための一着として仕立て直す。
Each distinctive panel line was carefully sewn, bringing the design together.
Through this special project, a piece from Obelisk’s past became a new pair made especially for Mr. Nishiyama today!
■ お渡し、そして完璧なフィッティング
完成したパンツをお渡しし、さっそくご試着いただきました。
サイズもシルエットも、狙いどおりの完璧な仕上がり！
約20年という時間を超えて、
At the handover, Mr. Nishiyama tried on his finished pants.
The fit and silhouette were perfect—just as we had planned!
Seeing him wear this design again, some 20 years on, was a truly rewarding moment for us as makers.
