神戸から届いた、世界に一本だけのセルビッチデニム。〜型紙・裁断編〜
兵庫県神戸市にお住まいの澤井さんより、セルビッチデニムを使用したサイズオーダーデニムパンツのご注文をいただきました。
Obeliskでは、お客様一人ひとりの体型やご要望に合わせ、既製品を調整するのではなく、一から型紙（パターン）を製作しています。
今回使用するのは、赤耳（セルビッチ）付きのデニム生地。昔ながらのシャトル織機で丁寧に織り上げられたセルビッチデニムは、美しい風合いと高い耐久性を兼ね備えています。
「通常のデニムはセルビッチの赤耳は、縫製すると隠してしまうのですが、
Obeliskのデニムでは、あえて！セルビッチ自体をデニムパンツの個性として生かすようにデザインされているのが、他にはないオリジナル！なのです！」
型紙が完成すると、そのラインに沿って慎重に裁断作業を進めます。一着一着、お客様だけの一本を生み出すための大切な工程です。

A One-of-a-Kind Selvedge Denim Project from Kobe – Pattern Making & Cutting
We recently received a custom order for selvedge denim pants from Mr. Sawai of Kobe, Japan.
At Obelisk, every pair begins with a custom-made pattern created specifically for the customer's body measurements and preferences, rather than simply altering ready-made jeans.
For this project, we are using premium red-line selvedge denim, woven on traditional shuttle looms and appreciated for its beautiful texture, durability, and timeless character.
In most denim jeans, the red selvedge edge disappears once the garment is sewn together. At Obelisk, however, we intentionally incorporate the selvedge into the design, allowing it to become a defining feature of the jeans. It’s a unique detail that gives every pair its own character—an original touch you’ll only find at Obelisk.
Once the pattern is completed, each fabric panel is carefully cut with precision. This is the first and most important step in creating a truly one-of-a-kind pair of jeans.
