Je suis passionné par le Japon et, après avoir étudié les langues étrangères pendant des années,

je souhaite désormais transmettre mon enthousiasme pour la découverte de nouvelles cultures.

Hello everyone! 

My name is Matt, and I'm from the United States. 

I arrived in Tokyo this spring, but I lived in Toyama prefecture for three and a half years.

I was born in San Antonio, Texas. It's quite hot there, but not humid like Japan.

However, we don't have all four seasons; it's hot for most of the year and a little rainy in the winter. 

During summer it's usually over 40 degrees every day!

I love to travel and read. I really enjoy anything on history. 

My favorite topics are Roman history, American history, and of course Japanese history! 

I also enjoy cooking and am always looking for new dishes to try. 

I'm not so good at cooking Japanese food, but I'm hoping to improve. 

I hope we can have a fun time studying English together. See you in class!

わたしの名前はマットです。

今年の春東京に来ましたが、その前は富山県に3年半住んでいました。

出身はアメリカのテキサス州サン・アントニオという所です。

とても暑いところですが、日本ほどは蒸し暑くはないです。

四季はなく、一年を通じて暑く、雨は冬に少しだけ降ります。

夏の間は、たいてい毎日40度を越えます！

趣味は旅行と読書です。

歴史が好きで、ローマ・アメリカ、

そしてもちろん日本の歴史が大好きです。

料理も好きで、いつも新しい料理があればトライしています。

和食はあまりうまく作れませんが、上手に作れるようになりたいです。

一緒に楽しく英語を勉強するのが楽しみです！

Bonjour tout le monde !

Le temps des séparations est arrivé ! 

La semaine prochaine je dois à contrecœur repartir en France,

mais ce n’est que pour mieux revenir dans deux mois ! 

Je vais en effet travailler à l’école d’Osaka à partir du mois de juin.

Pendant les quelques temps que je vais passer en France,

je vais en profiter pour faire quelques petits voyages avec ma famille !

En effet, j’ai toujours habité en France mais j’y ai très peu voyagé. 

Je pense déjà aller à Paris pour quelques jours.

Si l’on demande à un japonais ce qu’il y a à voir à Paris, 

il vous répondra sûrement la Tour Eiffel, le musée du Louvre, 

Notre dame de Paris, Versailles ou encore le Mont Saint Michel qui n’est pas si loin !  

Mais cette fois j’aimerais visiter des endroits un peu moins connus 

mais sans doute aussi intéressants. Connaissez-vous le jardin de Giverny ?

C’est un grand jardin dans lequel Claude Monet a puisé son inspiration pour ses peintures. 

C’est un endroit très calme et dans lequel on peut trouver des plantes et des fleurs diverses. 

La prochaine fois que vous allez en France, pourquoi ne pas y aller ?　

Je pense que voir les grands monuments est important 

mais il est aussi intéressant de visiter des endroits peu connus du public 

pour y découvrir de nouvelles choses !

Hello everybody !

The time to say goodbye has finally come!

I will be going back to France next week.

However , it is not such a sad departure because I will be back in Japan in June to work in the Osaka school! 

During the time that I will spend in France, 

I plan to do some travels with my family.

I have always been living in France but I have not had so many chances to travel there. 

This time I am thinking of going to Paris for a few days. 

If I ask a Japanese person where I should go in Paris, they will definitively answer this: The Eiffel tower, the Louvre Museum, Notre dame de Paris, Versailles or the Mont Saint Michel.. right?!

However this time I want to visit not so well-known places which are certainly just as interesting as the others. 

Have you ever heard about the Giverny garden? It’s a large garden in which Claude Monet found his inspiration for his paintings. 

The place is really quiet and there are many plants and flowers.

Next time if any of you go to France, how about going there and checking it out?

For me, visiting famous monuments is important but it can also be interesting to go off the beaten path.

So everybody, thank you for everything and see you very soon in Osaka!

フランス語を担当しているマリオン先生の
エッセイをお送りしたいと思います

【フランス語】

Recemment il a fait tres beau au Japon et tout le monde parle du printemps qui arrive!

Pourtant en France, l’hiver est encore bien la et les temperatures ne grimpent pas! 

Meme la neige persiste encore dans quelques regions! 

Tout le monde attend avec impatience l’arrivee des beaux jours et 

se rejouit des premiers rayons de soleil et des premieres fleurs printanieres!

Au Japon on a les cerisiers, qui donnent lieu a de nombreux evenements et festivals. 

En France, on trouve peu de cerisiers mais l’eclosion de plusieurs fleurs evoque l’arrivee du printemps! 

Parmi les plus connues, on trouve les crocus (les premieres venues en general),

les primeveres, les jonquilles, le lilas et les tulipes bien sur!

En revanche, il n’y a aucune fete a proprement parler pour celebrer ces fleurs et 

on se contente d’aller en cueillir dans la foret ou tout simplement de les acheter! 

Les francais sont-ils moins sensibles a la nature que les japonais? Une question a debattre! 

En attendons, profitons tous du beau temps et esperons qu’il s’etendra rapidement vers la France!

Recently the weather has been really nice and everybody is already talking about the coming Spring!

However, in France we are still in the middle of winter and it’s still really cold.

It’s even snowing in some regions! Everybody is waiting for nice days and sunbeams to come back. 

In Japan, we have cherry trees that lead to numerous festivals and events across the country.

In France we don’t have so many cherry trees but the blooming of some flowers is a sign of the coming Spring! 

Among the most famous, we have crocus, primrose, yellow daffodil, lilac and of course the tulip!

However, there is no dedicated festivals for these flowers and French people simply go to pick them in the forest or buy them in stores. 

Are French people less caring for nature than the Japanese? A question to debate! 

From now let’s enjoy the nice weather and let’s hope that it will make its way to France in good time.

最近は天気がすごく良くて、春が近づいてきてる話題が多いですね！

あいにくフランスはまだ真冬で、とっても寒いです。時々雪も降ります！

フランスの人々は春の陽気と太陽の光を心待ちにしています。

日本には桜があって、さまざまなお祭りやイベントが開催されます。

フランスにはあまり桜は咲いていませが、他の花が咲くと春の訪れを意味します。

一番有名のはコロッカス（春に一番早く咲く花）、黄水仙、プリラムラ、ライラック、チューリップと言う花です。

かと言って、日本みたいなお祭りや花見はありません。

フランス人はただ森に花を摘みに行ったり、お店で花を買います。

フランスの人は日本よりも自然のイベントを重視してないんでしょうか？
それはまた別の話ですね！

では、日本の良い天気を楽しみ、
そしてフランスにも春が訪れる事を期待しましょう！
