で、アメリカでは昇進するとドーナツを差し入れるという伝統があるらしく…
その伝統にしたがって友人はドーナツを差し入れた、と。

〔人や動物の動く〕長い行列
という意味だそうです（驚）
なので
休憩室に行く私にぞろぞろと同僚がついてきたから
みたいな感じですね。
最後の文章。

私がドーナツの箱を持ってきたのを見て
となります。
