Japan's nuclear exclusion zone
What does a sudden evacuation look like? After everyone is gone, what happens to the places they've abandoned?
National Geographic Magazine sent Associated Press photographer David Guttenfelder to the nuclear exclusion zone around Japan's Fukushima Daiichi power plant to find out.
Evacuated shortly after the March 11 earthquake and tsunami led to a nuclear radiation crisis, the area has been largely untouched, with food rotting on store shelves and children's backpacks waiting in classrooms.
The area may face the same fate as the town of Pripyat, Ukraine after the Chernobyl disaster 25 years ago. This isn't the first time Guttenfelder has gotten a rare glimpse of a place few see, as

David Guttenfelder氏の写真がネットで公開。
動物救済の様子の他に被災地や避難所の様子も掲載されています。
この写真は12月にアメリカで発売されていた
ナショジオにも掲載されていました。
日本の報道ではなかなか見れない写真ではと思います。
少しずつですがこのような方の働きかけにより、
被災地の事、動物の事が世界に広まっているように思います。

この写真家のデビッドさんが、星ファミリーと共に区域内に入った際の様子がナショナルジオグラフィックに掲載されましたが、このようにまた改めて公開されるのはうれしいです。少しでもこの危機が世界の人たちに伝わってほしいです。
写真の上から３枚目、ワンちゃんたちとたわむれている方は、以前ご紹介した福島原発緊急避難地域20km圏のすぐ外側の山の中でニワトリ450羽、ウサギ30匹、モルモット30匹、犬20匹などと共にたった一人で生活されている坂本さんです。
