安定性を重視するDebianなので、JessieのLibreOfficeは一世代前の、Ver.4.3.3です。
最新版はStretchやsidで使えますが、Jessieでもbackportsを利用して導入できます。

但し、十分検証されておらず無保証なので、自己責任で使う覚悟が必要です。
About backports
Backports are recompiled packages from testing (mostly) and unstable (in a few cases only, e.g. security updates) in a stable environment so that they will run without new libraries (whenever it is possible) on a Debian stable distribution
Backports cannot be tested as extensively as Debian stable, and backports are provided on an as-is basis, with risk of incompatibilities with other components in Debian stable. Use with care!
It is therefore recommended to select single backported packages that fit your needs, and not use all available backports.
具体的には、LibreOfiiceを以下の手順で更新しました。
/etc/apt/sources.list に以下の行を追記。
deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian jessie-backports main
$ sudo apt update
$ sudo apt-get -t jessie-backports install libreoffice-writer
途中、以下の表示あり。Ver.4.3.3をVer.5.2.6に上書きしています。
libreoffice (1:5.2.6-2~bpo8+1) で (1:4.3.3-2+deb8u7 に) 上書き展開しています ...
不要ファイルを削除します。
$ sudo apt-get autoclean
$ sudo apt-get autoremove
更新されたLbreOfficeを起動しました。最新版の5.3.3ではありませんが、Ver.5.2.6になっています。
Ver.4.3.3とどこが変わったのか？良く分かりませんが、暫く使って見ます。
若し、不具合があれば、元に戻せば良いので。。。
