I read the novel "The Brooklyn Follies" by Paul Auster in Japanese which is translated by Motoyuki Shibata.
It is the first time I read Auster's novel, and I found the book very interesting.
Nathan is a middle aged man who survived from lung cancer and retired from insurance sales.
He is divorced and has moved to Brooklyn to live by himself. He met Tom, his only nephew there and came to know people who live near them. He and his nephew struggled to take back their life.
It is a story of ordinary people and nothing special happens, but I think you can feel contended when you finish reading this book. This book may let you rediscover your life.
Translation was very good, but I would like to read the original book in English in the future.
