ぼかして書いてありますが、要はrace(人種)、religion(宗教)、suicide(自殺)などのsocial taboo(社会的タブー)などの話題を避ける問題の事だそうです。

つまり、部屋にいる象さんが目に入らないわけはないのに、部屋にいる人たちは象がいないかのように振る舞う事を言うそうです。

昨日、9月3日に69歳で死んだ象の「はな子」のお別れ会が東京の井の頭公園で行われました。
私も小さい頃に見に行った象さんです

いままでみんなを楽しませてくれてありがとう。
