サンドリアンくん
ついに！ チャイルド・スポンサーをさせてもらっている
私のチャイルド、サンドリアン君に会いました。
もう本当にエキサイティングなことでした！
どんな声をしてるのかな？どんな性格の男の子かな？
彼は何が好きなんだろう？ 本当に興奮しました！！
はじめてサンドリアン君にお会いしたとき、
彼はとっても緊張していて何も話しませんでした。
そりゃ、そうですよね。突然、日本人が
（スタッフも含め）会いにくるのですから～！
そのあとは、日本から持って行ったシャボン玉を
いっしょにやったり、おもちゃの車で遊んだり、
ボール遊びもしました。
それはそれは楽しい時間でしたよ。
もう言葉なんて全然関係ない！一緒に過ごした時間は、
ただ笑って、たた楽しんで！
素敵な時間を過ごさせてもらいました。
私たちは、一緒にランチも楽しみました。
村のお母さん方がお料理を作ってくれたんです！
フィリピン料理は、とってもおいしい！
サンドリアンくんは、小食のようで、
あまりたくさん食べなかったかな。
でも、良い姿勢でマナーを守って食べていました！
本当に素敵な男の子です！
Sandorian-Kun
Finally, it was time to meet my sponsor child, Sandorian-Kun.
I was so exited to see him!
What would his voice sound like?
What kind of personality would he have?
What kind of things would he like?
There were many unknowns about him
that it made me so curious and excited.
When we met for the first time,
he looked very nervous and was so quiet.
Of course, he would be. All of sudden,
several Japanese people who he didn't know
came to meet him. After that, Sandorian
and I had fun.
We blew bubbles, and played with toy cars
and balls that I brought him from Japan.
We had a great time!!
It didn't matter that we couldn't speak a common language!
We just laughed and enjoyed our time together!
We had lunch with people from the village people
who cooked for us.
Philippine food was delicious!
Sandorian didn't eat much but he tried to eat with good manners!
He is a really good boy!
ワールド・ビジョン・フィリピンによると、村のお母さん方は、
ＷＶＰスタッフに協力的なのだそう！
スタッフが村へチェックしにいけないときは、
村のお母さん方が子供たちがしっかり学校へいっているか、
ケガはしていないか、虐待などないかをＷＶＰのスタッフの
代わりにチェックしてくれます。
村全体や生活の向上のためには、お互いの協力が不可欠ですね！
わたしは彼らのチームワークに感動するとともに、
改めてサポートの仕方を再確認しました。
According to World Vision Philippines,
women in the village cooperate with
the World Vision staff on a regular basis.
When WVP staff can’t go the village to check on the children,
the women will monitor certain things,
such as making sure children are going to school,
not injured, not being abused,
etc...instead of the WVP staff.
In order for them to really improve their lives in the village,
it's essential that they cooperate mutually like this.
I was very much moved by their teamwork
and was able to reconfirm the way they support each other.
台風ハイアンは、サンドリアン君の家族にも
ダメージをあたえました。
家は壊されてしまい、周りの建物も破壊されてしまったのです。
家族は全員、近くの学校に避難し無事でした。
ワールド・ビジョンでは、サンドリアン君の家を
建て直すために、木材や合板シート、セメント、
釘などの資材を支援いたしました。
家族はいま、以前よりも災害に強い家に住んでいます！
サンドリアンくんや周りのお友達は、
学用品などの支援も受けていますよ！
サンドリアン君のたくさんの笑顔が見られて
とっても嬉しかったです！
ありがとうね～サンドリアン君！
Typhoon Haiyan greatly affected Sandorian’s family.
Their house and other properties were devastated.
Thankfully, they were able to evacuate to a nearby school.
World Vision helped the family rebuild their house
by providing shelter, construction materials such as lumber,
sheets of plywood, cement, nails and other items.
The family is now living in a stronger house than before.
Sandrian also received school supplies
and World Vison also supports his community
so that they can reach more children.
I was so happy to see their big smiles!

貧しくて苦しくても、家族みんなでひとつひとつ
積み重ねてきたものが、一瞬で失われてしまった。
それでも、生きる力を信じ、希望を捨てずにもう一度
スタートするために必死で助け合ったフィリピンの人々。
日本も、何度も何度も自然災害に襲われ、
同じような苦しい時を過ごしてきました。
東日本大震災では、実に多くの海外からのありがたい支援があり、
温かい励ましをいただきました。
フィリピンからも、医療や物資の支援をいただきました。
たくさんの人々に支えられていることを、
忘れてはいけないと思っています。
Even if they were poor and struggling,
everything that families had accumulated one by one,
was lost in an instant by the typhoon.
Nevertheless, they desperately helped each other
by believing in the power to live, not giving up hope,
and trying to restart again.
In Japan, we have been hit by many disasters,
and have had hard times as well.
We received lots of help and warm encouragement
from many foreign countries
when the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake occurred.
We also received medical support
and many supplies from the Philippines.
We should never forget how many people supported us
during our difficult times.
