It has been a while since we have been to the West Coast.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been away from the West Coast for a long time, and I was again impressed by the vastness of the sky.

I could not believe New York and the West Coast were on the same continent in the United States.

While on a family errand, the younger two took a college tour.

They grew up in New York, so just seeing the historic school buildings was an educational experience for them,

Also, they experienced firsthand the actual state of American society, where nothing is possible without a car.

Los Angeles and San Francisco were the first U.S. cities I visited as a student.

Even now, 30 years later, I wish I could have stayed longer in each city.

We spent only three nights and missed the taste of B-grade food that New York does not offer.
