「ニューヨーク日系人会ビジネスウーマンの会」というのがある。
米国ビジネスの第一線で活躍する聡明な女性の集まりというイメージで、
普段の私からはまったく縁のない世界のようにも思えるけれど、
「フューマンライツナウ」のセミナーはたいてい参加するようにしている。
「ヒューマンライツナウ」を牽引する伊藤和子弁護士、
千葉大学で＝の刑事法学者である後藤弘子教授、
モデレーターは、ニューヨーク在住のジャーナリスト津山恵子さん。
「ジャニーズの性加害問題を許すな」という過激なタイトルに少し身構えてしまったけれど、
2023年7月に改定された性犯罪に法定内容を丁寧に説明してくださる講義だった。
日本では少子化に伴い、非行の数は劇的に減少しているが、
一方で不登校や自死をする生徒、児童が増加しているとの報告。
そして安全と思われてきた学校や家庭での性的犯罪が激増しているという事実。
どれもこれもショッキングなレポートだらけで、こんなに多くの「助けて」の声が埋もれていることを痛感。
被害を受けて声を上げた方が批判されることが多い性犯罪だけれど、
そこには女性だけでなく、男性の声もあることを、ジャニーズ問題が知らしめてくれ
た。
法改正により、一人でも多くの被害者に、救いの道が開けますように。
There is a "group of business-women" of the Japanese American Association.
I am usually away from it since I imagine it as a gathering of bright women active on the front lines of business in the United States.
However, I try to attend most of the "Human Rights Now" seminars.
The speakers were Ms. Kazuko Ito, a leading lawyer of "Human Rights Now" and Professor Hiroko Goto, a criminal law scholar at Chiba University,
Ms. Keiko Tsuyama, a journalist living in New York, moderated there.
Though I was a bit defensive at the radical title, "Don't allow the issue of sexual assault by Johnny & Associates, Inc. to go unanswered."
The lecture carefully explained the legal content of the revised sexual offenses in July 2023.
The number of delinquents in Japan has been dramatically decreasing due to the declining birthrate.
On the other hand, the number of students who do not go to school or commit suicide is increasing.
All of these reports are shocking,
I was painfully aware that so many voices of "help" are buried.
Although sexual crimes are often criticized by those who are victims and raise their voices, there are not only women but men as well,
The problem of Johnny & Associates, Inc. has made us realize that there are both women's and men's voices.
I hope that the new law will help as many victims as possible will be able to find a way to be saved.
