以前ニューヨークに駐在していた友人が、年末に石川県に帰郷していた。
ようやく連絡が取れたけれど、地元ではまだ避難生活を余儀なくされている。
祖国から離れた場所だけれど、せめてもの愛と支援を送りたい。
ニューヨーク在住の方々が立ち上がって、ファンドレイジング企画が開催された。
世界で活躍するオペラ歌手・田村麻子さん、ブロードウェイ俳優・由水南さん、
そして和太鼓、尺八、キッズダンスなど、11組の出演者が出演。
募金やオークションなど、支援につながる企画が盛りだくさんだった。
あの日、七尾市で被災された方が涙ながら訴えた。
「皆さんがかつて訪れたことがある能登のことを思い出していただければ」
「あの美しい光景が、また戻ってきた時に、旅行をしようと思っていただけたら」
企画を立ち上げたライオンズクラブ、日系人会、石川県人会の皆様、
微力ながら、引き続き私たちのエールを送り届けてください。
