2005年５月に誕生した長男が、遂に巣立って行った。
米国では、大学に進学するほとんどが寮生活を強いられるから、
高校を卒業した時点で、親の元を離れていく心づもりでいる。
物にこだわりのない長男の荷物、たったこれだけ。
ボストンまで片道５時間かけて、最後の見送り。
寮の部屋を見てみると、ないものだらけで、
とりあえず、近所のスーパーで簡易冷蔵庫を購入して終わり。
翌日の帰りは大渋滞に巻き込まれて、８時間かかった。
家族は、少しずつ形を変えていく。それでいい。
