At the end of this fall, we moved out.

Post-COVID-19, Manhattan has seen a return of tourists worldwide, and rents have risen intermittently.

My oldest son moved to a college dormitory, and we decided it was a good time to downsize, so we moved from the apartment we had lived in for the past 14 years.

New York City's apartment market has always been a renter's market,

Finding a place to live, screening, signing a lease, and moving in is very fast.

If you don't decide in a moment, a good apartment will be rented out to another tenant in no time,

And you won't be able to arrange a mover in time.

I had planned to declutter before moving, but there was no time at all,

As a result, I spent several weeks steadily putting things away while opening cardboard boxes at the new location.

By the time I had finally settled into a comfortable pace of life, it was already the middle of the holiday season.

I already missed the view of the sky from the rooftop the night before we moved in.

In my new apartment, the morning sun peeks out only through the gaps between the buildings.

I have forgotten the sky of my hometown.
