ホテルオークラに5年勤務した後、単身渡仏。

その前後や本格帰国後のキャリアだけでも、十二分にその実力がわかるけれど、

男の職場ともいわれるフランス料理界に挑む、その華奢な容姿に驚いてしまう。

 

『RED-U35大会」で女性トップの「岸朝子賞」受賞、様々なイベント経験を経て、

パーソナルシェフ、ケータリング、企業案件などを扱う新しいブランド

「Mille」を立ち上げてからの業績も輝かしい。

 

山田千夏シェフから、久しぶりにNY来訪するという連絡を受けて、

どんなお店にお連れしようかと悩んだ末、Odo GalleryとHallに足を運ぶことにした。

彼女のご主人が大ファンだったという坂本龍一氏との関わりの強いお店で、

近況や未来を語り合って、数年分のキャッチアップをした。

 

終始笑顔で厨房に立つ千夏シェフの料理に、私もたくさん救われてきた。

女性シェフの地位を確たるものにしたいと訴え続けてきた彼女が、

確実にその成果を上げているのは、彼女の波ならぬ努力の結果。

 

ニューヨークに残された坂本龍一氏のたくさんの軌跡を忍びながら、

女性シェフの未来が、さらに明るいものでありますようにとエールを送る。

 

 

There is a female chef whom I respect very much.

After working at Hotel Okura for five years, Chinatsu Yamada went to France alone.

Although her career before, during, and after her return to Japan is more than enough to show her ability.

But I was surprised by her passion and tiny appearance, a challenge in French cuisine, which is said to be a man's workplace.

 

After winning the "Asako Kishi Award," the top female chef at the "RED-U35 competition",

She has also made brilliant achievements since launching her new brand, "Mille," which handles personal chef, catering, and corporate projects.

 

I received a message from her that she would be visiting New York for the first time in a while,

After much deliberation about what kind of restaurant to take her to, I visited "Odo Gallery" and “Hall,” a restaurant with a solid connection to Ryuichi Sakamoto, of whom her husband was a big fan,

We chatted for a long time and discussed recent developments and plans.

 

I have been saved a lot by Chef Chinatsu's cooking, who stands in the kitchen with a smile from start to finish.

She has been appealing for a solid position for female chefs,

She has been making outstanding achievements as a result of her tireless efforts.

 

I will be able to remember the many traces of Ryuichi Sakamoto left behind in New York City,
