日米で活躍するバイオリニスト、加野景子さんからコンサートの案内が届いた。
これまで景子さんのコンサートには何度も足を運ばせていただいたけれど、
コロナ禍以降、久しぶりの機会にワクワクしながら、会場に向かった。
冷たい雨が降る３月初めの夜、アッパーウェストの教会にたくさんの聴衆が集った。
オーケストラ「ペガサス」のまとめ役、コンサートマスターを景子さんが務め、
指揮棒をふるのはKaren Hakobyan氏、ゲストにはチェリストSuren Bagratuni氏。
モーツアルト、ハイドン、グリーグ、シュニトケと、壮大な協奏曲のオンパレードに、
体内の血液が一気に脳まで行き渡り、心地よい興奮が続く。
パイプオルガンのあるクラシックな教会と、歴史あるクラシック音楽の融合が最高で、
そんな「本物」がこんなに身近にあるニューヨークという街は、やはり最高で最強。
景子さんの華奢な身体から湧き出る力強いバイオリンの音色と、
Begratuni氏の奏でる優しく、そして時に激しいチェロの音色が、
いつまでも脳裏に焼き付いて離れない、そんな刺激的な一夜のコンサート。
常に精力的に活動を続ける景子さんのパッションに、心からの敬意とエールを送ります。
I received a concert invitation from Eiko Kano, a violinist active in Japan and the United States.
I had attended many of Eiko's concerts, but this was my first opportunity to see her since the COVID-19 pandemic, and I was excited to go to the concert venue.
On a cold rainy early March evening, a large audience gathered at a church in the Upper West Side.
Eiko was the concertmaster of the orchestra "Pegasus."
Karen Hakobyan conducted the orchestra, and cellist Suren Bagratuni was the guest player.
By the parade of magnificent concertos by Mozart, Haydn, Grieg, and Schnittke, the blood in my body was pumped to the brain, and a pleasant excitement followed.
Combining a classical church with a pipe organ and historic classical music was the best.
New York is the world's best and most important city where such a "real thing" is so close at hand.
The concert was such a stimulating night.
Eiko's powerful violin tone comes from her slender body,
and the gentle and sometimes violent cello tones played by Mr. Begratuni, would remain burned into your mind forever.
