備忘録。
昨年同様、近隣ビルに住むフランス人家族にお呼ばれさせていただいた。
彼らの長男が、我が家の次男と幼稚園からの同級生。
今はそれぞれ別々の高校に通っているけれど、今でも家族ぐるみのお付き合い。
次男は今夏一人で彼らのセカンドハウス＠ハンプトンで過ごし、
一緒にテニスキャンプに行ったりして、本当に馬が合うようだ。
刺身のアペタイザー、13ポンドの七面鳥、数々の付け合わせ、カボチャのチーズケーキ。
典型的なサンクスギビングディナーを楽しめるのは、彼らのおかげ。
こうして食事をいただけるという時代と環境に感謝。まさにサンクスギビング。
また来年も穏やかにこの日を迎えられますように。
Reminder.
Like last year, we were invited by a French family who lives in a neighboring building.
Their eldest son has been a classmate of our second son since kindergarten.
Although they now attend different high schools, we still have a close family relationship.
Our second son spent this summer alone at their second house in Hampton.
They went to a tennis camp together and seemed to get along.
Sashimi appetizer, 13 lb. turkey, numerous garnishes, and pumpkin cheesecake.
We were able to enjoy a typical Thanksgiving dinner.
I am thankful for the times and the environment in which we can enjoy the meal in this way. Thanksgiving indeed.
May we celebrate this day peacefully again next year.
