障害児を異国で育てる苦労、自身の心と身体との戦い、友人・家族との葛藤、娘・千璃（せり）の誕生にまつわる医療裁判、繰り返される娘の手術…。
原作『未完の贈り物（2012年刊）』には母であり異国の地で働くキャリアウーマンとしての倉本美香氏本人の視点から手記の形で千璃を取り巻く8年間のお話が綴られている。
今年、実在の千璃は19歳になる。
今回のミュージカル化では、その千璃自身が感じたかも知れない事に想像を巡らせ、千璃とその母・美香、父・丈晴の親子3人を通して、人と人が共感し共存するということの本質について考えてみたい。
あらすじ ：
ニューヨークで暮らす美香と丈晴は子供を授かった。
千璃と名付けられた女の子。
初めての子供に未来への希望と夢に膨らむ二人だったが生まれた子供には両眼ともに眼球がなく、知的障害も抱えていた。
絶望し途方にくれる夫婦。特に母である美香は自身を責め、周りの目を気にし、そして意思疎通がままならない我が娘に困惑し疲弊していく。
ある日、思い詰めた美香はマンションの屋上から千璃とともに身を投げようとするが、そのとき屋上から見下ろしたマンハッタンのある情景を耳にした千璃が笑う。
初めて目にした娘の笑顔に触れ、“この子と生きていこう”と強く誓う美香。
しかし、その決心の先には終わりが見えない千璃の手術、夫婦のすれ違い、周囲の非難、法廷闘争・・・など想像を絶する難題が幾重にも待ち受けていた。

The difficulties of raising a disabled child in a foreign country, battles with her mind and body, conflicts with friends and family, a medical trial concerning the birth of his daughter, Seri, and repeated surgeries on her daughter...
The original work, "Mikan-no-Okurimono(2012)," tells the story of the eight years surrounding Seri in the form of a memoir from the perspective of Mika Kuramoto herself, as a mother and career woman working in a foreign country. This year, the real-life Seri turned 19.
In this musical adaptation, we would like to imagine what Seri herself might have felt. Through Seri, her mother Mika, and her father Takeharu, we would like to think about the essence of empathy and coexistence between people.
Synopsis:
Mika and Takeharu, who lived in New York, got a baby.
The girl was named Seri.
They were filled with hope and dreams for the future with their first child, but she was born without eyeballs and had multiple disabilities.
The couple was at their wits' end.
The mother, Mika, blamed herself and worried about the eyes of others, and she was confused and exhausted by her daughter's inability to communicate with her family.
One day, Mika was so distraught that she and Seri attempted to throw themselves off the roof of their apartment building, but then Seri heard a scene from Manhattan looking down from the roof and laughing.
Mika saw her daughter's smile for the first time and made a solid vow to "live with her.
However, her decision was met with unimaginable challenges, including Seri's endless surgeries, marital discord, criticism from others, legal battles, and more.
