両眼性無眼球症（全盲）とたくさんの障害を持って生まれた娘を育てながら、日米の架け橋となるべく東奔西走しています。
暗闇の中を手探りで歩いてきた当時の経験から、周囲に「助けて」と言える社会づくりを目指した活動を行っています。

全身麻酔による目の精密検査を３日後に控えた大事な時期に、千璃はひどい風邪を引いてしまった。
生後２ヶ月半の赤ちゃんが風邪を引くことなど滅多にないというが、恐らく病院通い中にどこかで菌をもらってしまったのだろう。
くしゃみと鼻水を連発し、呼吸もうまく出来なくなっているようだった。
幸い、熱は39度(華氏102度)以上にならなかったが、とにかく鼻水がひどく、いつしか毛細血管まで切れてしまったのか、鼻血が出流ようになった。
くしゃみをする度に、顔一面が鼻水と鼻血だらけになってしまうのだ。
鼻水がブシャッと出ると、途端に息が出来なくなって、とても苦しそうにする。
それがとても怖かった。
くしゃみをする度に、吸引器で鼻に詰まったものを取り除いてあげなくてはならない。
低月齢の赤ちゃんが高熱を発すると、脳に炎症を起こす可能性があるため、心配でたまらなかった。
Three days before the scheduled appointment for the detailed eye examination under general anesthesia, Seri caught a terrible cold.
Although it’s rather rare for a two-and-a-half-month-old baby to catch a cold, she probably picked it up going back and forth to doctors’ offices.
She was sneezing, had a runny nose and seemed to have difficulty breathing.
Fortunately, her fever never passed 102 degrees, but her runny nose got so bad that her nose started to bleed.
Every time she sneezed, her face became smeared in blood and snot.
When Seri’s nose started running too much, she struggled to breathe.
It was frightening.
Every time she sneezed, we had to use a suction bulb to get the mucus out of her nose.
I was also very worried because when a young infant breaks out in a high fever, there’s a chance that they may suffer brain inflammation.
