両眼性無眼球症（全盲）とたくさんの障害を持って生まれた娘を育てながら、日米の架け橋となるべく東奔西走しています。
暗闇の中を手探りで歩いてきた当時の経験から、周囲に「助けて」と言える社会づくりを目指した活動を行っています。
日々の暮らしを徒然と綴りながら、合間で娘のストーリー振り返り記事をアップしています。

コピーライター兼アーティストとして、世界で活躍する西村麻里さん。
コロナ禍のニューヨークでも、定期的に個展を開催されてきた。
世界中のアーティストが大集結するアートエキスポが、２年ぶりに開催。
設営日を入れて、のべ５日間という長丁場をサポートさせていただいた。
コロナ後初めての開催で、会場規模も人出も縮小していたけれど、
年々エネルギーが増大する麻里さんの作品に、多くの訪問者が魅せられていた。
１ヶ月前にニューヨーク入りしてから制作したという新作が並べられると、
海の向こうからでも、彼女のファンが注文を入れてくださる。
多くの作品は、ニューヨークの家に嫁入りすることになり、
売約済みの赤いシールが並べられると、さらに多くの足が運ばれる。
ライブペイントでの人だかり。
たくさんのギャラリーからのスカウト。
そして「AWARD OF EXCELLENCE」受賞という大きな収穫。
麻里さんの飛躍は止まらない。
来年も海外出展のスケジュールでぎっしり。
来月は東京・表参道で、個展が開催されます。
Mari Nishimura is a copywriter and artist who is active around the world.
She has been regularly holding solo exhibitions in New York, even during the COVID-19 pandemic.
For the first time in two years, "ARTEXPO New York 2021" was held where artists from all over the world gathered.
I supported the event for a total of five days, including set-up days.
It was the first time the event was held after the COVID-19 pandemic, and the scale of the venue and the number of people had shrunk.
However, many visitors were fascinated by Mari's works, which are getting more energetic every year.
Once she displayed her new works at the venue and online salon, which she had created after arriving in New York a month ago,
Her fans, even from across the sea, would place orders.
Many of the pieces were bought by New Yorkers.
When we displayed the red stickers of sold items, more and more people came to visit.
The live painting drew a crowd.
She was scouted by many galleries and won the "AWARD OF EXCELLENCE."
Mari's leap forward is unstoppable.
Next year, her schedule is packed with overseas exhibitions.
Next month, she will have a solo exhibition in Omotesando, Tokyo.
