「サンタコン」は、非営利目的のチャリティーイベント。
毎年５万ドルの寄付が、NPO団体には寄せられている。
でも、ただ仮装して飲んでいる若者も少なくない。
「サンタコン」に参加しているほとんどが州外からの人。
オリジナルのニューヨーカーたちは、あまりよく思っていない。
10ドルのチケットを買って、指定されたバーで飲んで、
最後は「指令」に従って大集合する。
昼間から大騒ぎして泥酔しているサンタクロースの集団を、
街は少し冷ややかな目で見ている。
今年は「マディソンスクウェアガーデン」が最終ゴール地点。
大きな騒動や逮捕劇のニュースは聞かなかったけれど、
サンタクロースを信じる子どもたちの夢が、少し奪われた土曜日。

Most of the participants in "SantaCon" are people from outside the province.
The original New Yorkers do not think it's good event.
They buy tickets for ten dollars, drink it in the designated bar,
Finally gather in accordance with the "command".
To a group of Santa Claus who is drunk with a big fuss from the day time,
New Yorkers are looking with a little cold eyes.
The final goal spot of this year was "Madison Square Garden".
Although I did not hear the big uproar or news of arrest play,
The dreams of the children who believe in Santa Claus was deprived of a little on last Saturday.
