ニューヨークで人気のエンターテイメント「The Ride」。
その魅力については、これまでにも何度か綴ってきた。
世界中から集まる観光客や地元ニューヨーカーがチケットを求め、
連日満席御礼、ソールドアウトの札が立っている。
そこで活躍する唯一の日本人ダンサー、中澤利彦氏。
1日何本ものショーを演出する舞台の裏側は、ほぼマニュアルの世界。
バス運転手からの指令を待って、仕込み場所を移動する。
天気や交通渋滞によって、バスのルートが折々変わる。
時に運転手が停車し損ねて、スルーされることもあるらしい。
「The Ride」の面白さは、実は外からバスの中を見ている側にもある。
お客様の反応を瞬時に読み取る洞察力。
たった数分のダンスショーに、周囲の通行人をも巻き込む圧倒的な実力。
まずは人に覚えてもらうこと、誰よりも目立つことを目的に、
髪の毛を金髪に染める青年の素顔が、
誰よりもシャイで誠実なことを、私は知っている。
世界の舞台に挑戦し続ける姿は、どこまでも勇ましい。
"The Ride" is one of the popular entertainments in New York.
Regarding its charm, I have written it several times.
Tourists who gather from all over the world and local New Yorkers,

He dyes his hair in blond for the purpose that people remember him.
Though his looks stand out more than any Asians in New York,
I know he is shy and sincere than anyone.
The figure that continues to challenge the world stage is brave.
