アーティスト山口歴（やまぐち・めぐる）氏。
ブルックリンを拠点に活動する新進気鋭のアーティスト。
ファッションデザイナーの両親を持ち、７歳から西洋画を習った。
浮世絵や印象派のポストカードを模写して過ごした幼少期。
漠然と芸術関係の将来を描いていたものの、芸大受験に失敗。
東京のデザイン事務所に勤めながら、デザインの本質を学んだ。
21歳の時に「アートに対する制限がない」ニューヨークに移住を決意。
ブルックリンにあるアーティストオフィスで５年間修行を積みながら、
欧米のポップアートやグラフィティアーティストに影響を受ける。
偉大な先人の仕事をリスペクトしつつ、
そこに自分なりの新しいエッセンスを加えていく。
「カットアンドペースト」という、絵具の筆跡を貼り合わせる独自の技法は、
まさに「現代アート」の骨頂。
キャンバスだけでなく、彫刻、壁画など、彼の作品は幅広い。
展示会場では、入り口に描かれた壮大な壁画が、まず人々をお迎えする。
「UNTAINETED ABSTRUCTION」のタイトル通り、抽象画の世界を堪能する空間。
「ナイキ」や「ユニクロ」とのコラボなど、活躍の場を広げている山口氏。
やはり彼の作品は、「リミットレスなニューヨーク」に似合う。

Artist: Meguru Yamaguchi.
An up and coming artist based in Brooklyn.
He has parents of a fashion designer, and learned Western painting from age 7.
Early childhood who spent time copying Ukiyoe prints and impressionist postcards.
Despite he was vaguely depicting the future of art relations, failed to take entrance exam of the art college.
While working for a design office in Tokyo, he learned the essence of design.
At the age of 21, he decided to move to New York, since he felt there was no restriction on art there.
While training at the artist office in Brooklyn for five years,
he was affected by European and American pop art and graffiti artists.
While respecting the work of the great predecessor,
he will add his own new essence there.
A unique technique of pasting handwriting of paint called "cut and paste"
It is exactly the point of "modern art".
Besides canvas, sculpture, mural paintings, his works are in wide field
