12月初旬、ニューヨーク市内の和食レストラン10店舗で、
福島県の日本酒をプロモーションするイベントが企画された。
毎年、日本全国の日本酒の出来栄えを競う「全国新酒鑑評会」で、
福島県は７年連続、金賞銘柄を最多数産出している。
「日本酒」はすでに米国の飲食業界に定着しているけれど、
産地まで認識している米国人は少ないからこそのプロモーション。
イベントを統括したプロデューサーの取り計らいで、
福島県大堀相馬焼松永窯の「IKKON」盃を、一緒に紹介させていただいた。
「ここからできる震災復興支援」
数年前に東北大震災の追悼式典で出会い、ずっと応援してきた松永窯。
小さな声でささやき続けていた想いを、すくいあげてくれた方々。

In early December, at 10 Japanese restaurants in New York City,
There had event promoting Sake of Fukushima Prefecture.
Every year, at the "National New Sake Appraisal", which competes for the performance of sake throughout Japan,
Fukushima has produced the largest number of gold prize brands for the seventh consecutive year.
“Sake” is already known in the US food and beverage industry,
we promoted Fukushima locality because few Americans are aware of the locality of products.
Thanks to the arrangement of the producer who supervised the event,
we also introduced the "IKKON" cup of the Obori Soma ware, Matsunaga Pottery, in Fukushima prefecture.
"Earthquake disaster reconstruction support that can be done from here"
I met Mr. Matsunaga, 4th generation of Matsunaga Pottery, several years ago at the memorial ceremony of the Great East Japan Earthquake, and have been supporting them all the time.
To those who saved up the feelings that had been whispering in a small voice.

Obori Soma ware products are now available in New York.
We want to connect Japanese pride to the world.
