初めてここを訪れたのは、2006年のオープン直後だったろうか。
東京に比べると劇安のビジネスホテルが濫立する福岡という土地で、
周囲の３倍以上の値段でお部屋を提供するというのに、
ホテル稼働率は95パーセント以上。
アメリカのパームスプリングスをイメージした空間。
ミッドセンチュリーのラグジュアリーなインテリア。
設備の充実はもちろん、最高のおもてなしを受けたという充実感が、
長くこのホテルのファンでいることの魅力なのだろう。
久しぶりに訪れた空間。
開業から12年以上が経ったのに、少しも寂れた感がない。
ブライダル後のパーティーで盛り上がる若者たちが微笑ましい。
以前、ニューヨークで一緒に働いていたスタッフが、
今は福岡でホテル総支配人として活躍している。
そんなストーリーだけでも、感慨深い。
福岡に行く時は、またここを訪れよう。
