日本の文化を世界に伝える「JAPAN NIGHT」というイベントで
日本を代表するミュージシャンMISIAがライブコンサートを開催。
チケットは発売後すぐに完売だったらしい。
世界の舞台でも特別な思い入れのあるニューヨークという街で、
MISIAがライブを行ったのは、実はこれが初めてだというから驚き。
ゲストのPUFFYが、バンドとの呼吸が合わずに何度もやり直したり。
アンコールで誰もが期待していた「Everything」を歌わなかったり。
予想外のセットリストではあったものの、
たどたどしい英語のMCで「ニューヨーク大好き」と連呼する姿に、
ニューヨーカーは「ありがとう」「頑張れ」とエールを送り続けた。
そして何よりも圧倒的な歌唱力に、聴衆は皆魅了されたに違いない。
日本では4大ドームを制覇するトップミュージシャンであっても、
ニューヨークに来ると、手の届きそうな距離で歌ってくれる。
SNSでの拡散効果を狙ってか、カメラフリーの演出もありがたい。
会場が撤収体制に入っても、アンコールの声はいつまでも止まなかった。
MISIAの突き抜ける声が耳に残ったまま、またしばらく元気でいられそう。
