2002年７月27日に会社を立ち上げてから10年が過ぎた。
右も左も分からない米国のビジネス界で、日本から来たちっぽけな女性に仕事を与えてくれた勇気ある方々、そしてそれをサポートしてくださったすべての御縁に感謝。
さて、そんな記念すべき日に、我が家のすぐ近くにあった超老舗薬局が閉店という悲しいお知らせが届いた。
「LASCOFF J Leon & Son」1899年創業のドラッグストア。
昔ながらの処方箋＆計り売りスタイルを頑固に守り通し、歴史ある店構えはこれまでに数々の名作映画にも登場。
知る人ぞ知る、マンハッタンの隠れ名所のひとつにもなっていた。
しかし近年「Duane Reade 」や「CVS」といったコンビニに併設する薬局の快進撃が続き、ついにこらえきれなくなったのだろう。
「古き良きものは頑として守り抜くこと」は、公私共々、私のライフスタイルそのもの。
常にアンテナを張って新しい情報を取り入れることも重要だが、一方で、古いモノをどうやって受け継ぎながら、次世代に繋げていこうかということを考える。
薬局の跡地が薬剤ミュージアムにでもなってくれることに期待しよう。
「OFFICE BEAD（オフィス・ビード）」創立10周年。

It has passed 10 years since my company launched on July 27th in 2002.
I thank all courageous people who gave me the job to a tiny woman came
from Japan, I did not even know left from right in the US business world
though.
I also thank all edges which had supported my past life and business.
Well, on such a memorable day, I got sad news that the ultra-long-
established pharmacy was closed, which located near my apartment.
The pharmacy "LASCOFF J Leon & Son" was founded in 1899.
They defended the stubborn of old-fashioned style, measure and sale with
prescription.
It also appeared in many masterpieces of the famous movie film with the
historic appearance of store in the past.
It had been also one of the hidden attractions of Manhattan, people in the
know.
However, it would finally be no longer endures, because of the following
pharmacy, such as "Duane Reade" or "CVS" that located in the
convenience store in recent years.
The thing "Good old stubbornly should be defended" is my lifestyle in both
public and private.
It is always important to incorporate new information with expanding the
antenna, on the other hand, think of how inheriting the old one and how
leading to the next generation.
I hope the site of the pharmacy to give it any drug museum or something.
"OFFICE BEAD INC." will make more and more effort as possible to the
bridge connecting between people, country, and culture.
