一緒に活動している理事から声をかけられて、
日曜日の午後、野球の試合を観に行った。
みんな野球一筋で、本業の合間を縫って練習に集う。
野球と出会った時期は、幼少期から成人後まで人それぞれだけれど、
白いボールを追う熱い想いは、すべてのプレイヤーに共通している。
「本を読まない層の人たちに、メッセージを伝えたい」
そう立ち上がってくれた代表の視線の先に、彼らの存在を感じ取る。
スポーツにかける情熱の一部でも、その心を世直しのために向けてくれたら、
優しさに包まれた世界が、すぐそこに見えてくるかもしれない。
ここからも一歩。

I was approached by a board member I work with.
I went to watch a baseball game on Sunday afternoon.
Every member is dedicated to baseball and take time out of their day jobs to get together for practice.
Everyone had their own way of experiencing baseball, from childhood to adulthood, but
All players share a passion for chasing the white ball.
'I want to get our message out to people who don't read books,'
I can feel their presence to the target of the representative who started up the association.
If they could turn some of their passion for the sport to fix the world, even if it's just a part of their heart,
A world of tenderness may be just around the corner.
One step from here, too.
