夏目漱石の短編集「夢十夜」。
「こんな夢を見た」という有名な一文で始まる物語が、
日本人作曲家の手によって、オペラ楽曲という壮大な作品になった。
2008年にスウェーデンで初演され、漱石生誕150周年の今年、
国際共同作品として、新しい演出で見事に再演された。
十夜から抜粋された４つのシーンが、迫力のあるオーケストラと
想像力をかきたてられる演出で、組み立てられる。
「悟り」の境地にたどり着けずに苦悩する侍。
女の虜になり、崖に飛び込むか、豚に舐められるか、究極の選択を迫られる男。
盲目の我が子を山に捨てに行ったことから、前世の原罪が露見する父親。
死に別れた女と再会したいと100年待ち続けた男。
非現実的で幻想的な夢物語に、漱石自身の内面が伺える。
西洋のハーモニーを使って、日本のテーマを追求する。
解釈の難しい原作を表現する作曲家の苦悩と喜びも交錯。
どこまでも美しく、どこまでも力強い。
欧米で絶賛された大作が、まもなく日本に上陸する。
Natsume Soseki's notable novel "Ten Nights of Dream" is a story that starts
with a famous sentence "I had dreamed such a story".
By the hand of Japanese composer, Moto Osada, it became a magnificent work
of opera music.
"Four nights of dream" was premiered in Sweden in 2008.
As an international collaborative work, it was rearrangement spectacularly with
a new production in this year of Soseki's 150th anniversary.
Four scenes excerpted from the ten, is assembled with directing the imagination,
also with a powerful orchestra.
1. A samurai suffering without reaching the point of "enlightenment (satori)".
2. A man who becomes a prisoner of a woman is forced to choose the ultimate one;
jumps into a cliff, or is locked by pigs.
3. When the father goes to abandon his blind child, his original sin of the previous life
is revealed.
4.A man who kept waiting for 100 years to want to see a woman who died.
Inside the unreal and fantasy dreamlike, the inner surface of Soseki himself.
Using Western harmony, pursue Japanese theme.
I feel the composers' anguish and pleasure expressing difficult interpretations
are also mixed.
Moto's music is very beautiful and powerful.
A masterpiece acclaimed in Europe and America will land in Japan this month.
