身近にアートを置く意味について考える。
純粋に好きな絵だったり、インテリアとのバランスを考えたり。
私にとってアートとは。
それを手にした時、初めて目にした時の、感情を思い出すツールでもある。
貧乏留学生時代から、何度も足を運んだメトロポリタン美術館は、
あの頃の真っ直ぐな気持ちを思い出す、神聖な場所。
３ヶ月にわたって展示された「源氏物語」特別展は、
初めて百人一首を覚えた頃、「あさきゆめみし」で憧れた源氏の君、
いろんな感情を思い起こさせてくれた素晴らしい機会だった。
源氏物語を描いた書や巻物、屏風や漫画のイラストまで、
８テーマ、約120点の作品が所狭しと展示され、
1000年前の壮大な物語が、こうして今の時代に伝えられていることに感動する。
原作者の紫式部は、1000年後の世の中を想像できていたであろうか。
私たちはせめて、100年後の地球のことを考えるべきではないだろうか。
アートとは、時代を超えて伝えられるもの。
だからアートは、どんな時代にも普遍のメッセージをもたらすのだと。
I think about the meaning of putting art close to us.
It's might a purely favorite picture, and a balance with the interior.
What is art for me?
It is also a tool to remind emotions of when I first see it or when I get it.
I have visited The Metropolitan Museum of Art many times since my poor student days,
It is a sacred place that reminds me a pure feelings of that time.
A special exhibition of “The Tale of Genji” had been exhibited for three months.
When I first learned the "Hyakunin-ishu', or when I was admired by Genji in Manga of "Asaki Yumeshi",
It was a great opportunity to remind me of various emotions.
Even books and scrolls depicting the Tale of Genji, illustrations of screens and cartoons,
There were 8 themes and about 120 works on display.
I was so moved by what a grand story 1000 years ago is being told in this way.
Did Murasaki Shikibu, the original author, imagine the world 1000 years from then ?
Should we not at least think about the earth 100 years from now?
Art is something that can be transmitted over years.
So art brings a universal message in any age.
