ロバート・モンダヴィのワインを知ったのは、
社会人になってからだった。
自社養成パイロットの訓練所がナパ・ヴァレーにあって、
彼らが一時帰国する時に、よくモンダヴィのワインを買ってきてくれた。
ロバート・モンダヴィ氏の孫にあたるカルロ氏とダンテ氏が、
素晴らしいピノ・ノワール種のワインを売り出した。
「RAEN」と書いて「レイン」と読む。
「雨」は、ブドウにとってかけがえのない存在。
天から降る雨は、土に吸収された後、ブドウの根に吸い上げられて、
やがてブドウの果汁になる。
土壌と天候を徹底研究した結果、生粋のブルゴーニュスタイルのワインが
誕生したという。
美しいルビー色と華やかな花の香り、そして凝縮された果実味。
これだけでもう十分な条件が揃っている。
新しいワインの歴史が、こうして始まっていく。

Rain falling from the sky, after being absorbed by the earth, is sucked up by the roots of the grapes,
It will eventually become grape juice.
A thorough study of the soil and the weather resulted in a genuine Burgundian style wine.
Beautiful ruby color and gorgeous floral scent, and condensed fruit taste.
This alone has enough conditions.
